Open a new file 800 x 600, 72px resolution
Create a new layer
Open the Deco Frame Picture
Select>All, Edit>Copy (Ctrl + C)
Make your project active Edit>Paste (Ctrl + V)
Double click on the layer in the layers palette to bring up the blending options and apply the following Color Overlay and Bevel & Emboss settings:
Make the background layer active and fill with black
Open the photograph you wish to use.
Resize if necessary – for this project, the height should be around 400px.
Load the Hand-Colored Vintage Photo action to the actions palette and run the instructions:
Click continue:
Click stop
In the actions palette, click on Ageing then click on the run arrow
If you want your photo to be hand coloured, click on Colour in the actions palette, then on the run arrow.
Now click on Cracks in the actions palette if you wish, and follow the instructions
Right click on any visible layer and click on Merge Visible
Select>All, Edit>Copy (Ctrl + C)
Make your project active
Edit>Paste (Ctrl + V)
Using the Magic Wand Tool, select and delect all background and shadow areas, leaving just the photograph
Create a new layer
Select the Brush Tool and Rose Petal Brushes
Select the Swirl 2 brush, set foreground colour to #F8ABA6 and apply a swirl of petals to the right side of the photo – overlapping it
Create a new layer, set foreground colour to #B45470.
Apply another swirl to the canvas
Ctrl + T to transform the object.
Right click on the image, click on Flip Horizontal
Move the swirl to the left side of the picture, overlapping it – you may need to rotate a little for the best result.
Using the Eraser Tool, erase all petals covering the picture, leaving some on the frame, from both layers. Also, erase the petals that are outside of the orange frame.
Double click on one of the petal layers to bring up the blending options and apply the default settings for Drop Shadow and Bevel & Emboss:
Turn off the visibility of the background layer and the orange frame layer.
Right click on any visible layer and click on Merge Visible
Restore visibility to all layers
Select the Text Tool, Fashion Victim Font, size 150pt
Set the foreground colour to #F89F65
Type the first capital letter required. Right click on the layer in the layers palette and click on Rasterize Type.
Now type the rest of the first word, Rasterize Type.
Set the foreground colour to #74A383 and create the second word as above.
Continue in this way until you have all required words.
Double click on one of the text layers to bring up the blending options and apply the following Drop Shadow and Bevel & Emboss settings:
Copy and paste the layer style to all text layers
(Right click on the layer in the layers palette, click on Copy Layer Style. Right click on one of the text layers, click on Paste Layer Style)
Turn off the visibility of all layers except the text layers
Right click on any visible layer and click on Merge Visible
Using the Move Tool, move the text into place if necessary.
